A few days ago, fellow geocacher GeoRedheads and I hiked the Ohlone Wilderness Trail, from the Del Valle Reservoir 10 miles SE of Livermore to the Sunol Regional Park headquarters. Total distance: 36.3 km, (22.55 miles). Total ascent: 1835 meters (6020 ft). What a great (although quite arduous) hike!
