Horsetail Falls is a breathtaking sight clearly visible from Hwy 50 about 7 miles west of Echo Summit. The trail from the Twin Bridges trailhead follows Pyramid Creek before taking one to the base of the falls. While the last few hundred yards are tricky, most of the trail is very easy and pleasant. The round trip hike is only 3.3 miles, with 600 feet total elevation gain. A map and some photos are shown below.
Parking is available at the Twin Bridges trailhead, but it costs $10 (free if one has a Golden Passport), and unless you arrive fairly early the lot may be full. Parking is NOT allowed along Hwy 50.
NOTE: The Caldor Fire of 2021 raged through this area, so many of the lovely trees were burned.
