Over a period of three days (8-10 July 2025), I did three hikes in the South Lake Tahoe area, mostly distinct from hikes I have featured in years past. Here are some photos.
Here is a map of the first hike, which started at the Big Meadow trailhead (a few miles south of South Lake Tahoe), went past Round Lake, then reached Showers Lake, along the Pacific Crest Trail, then went cross-country, visiting four small lakes before returning:

The second hike started at Echo Summit, near Hwy 50, then headed south for about 6 miles to a scenic overlook, before returning to Echo Summit:
