The Lily Lake trail, opened in 2021, starts from the Lily Lake trailhead (see the Glen Alpine trail), then goes to Angora Ridge, not far from the Angora Lake resort parking lot. A map and some photos are shown below. From the summit, one may also try to climb up to Angora Peak (off trail, relatively strenuous).
There is a fair amount of parking at the Lily Lake trailhead, but on busy days, or if you do not arrive early, you may need to park along the narrow road.
The Lily Lake trail starts at the southwestern corner of the bridge at the Lily Lake trailhead, at N38 52.592 W 120 04.764. From here the trail continues past a trail intersection at N38 52.478 W120 04.712 (do not turn left or right on the Tamarack trail), then zigzags up the hill to a point near the Angora Resort parking lot. This hike is only 3.8 miles round trip, with a modest 750 feet total elevation gain. If you are ambitious, you can try to ascend Angora Peak from here, although this is not an easy hike — no real trail and much gravel.
Here is a map of a hike from Lily Lake to the Angora Resort parking lot and back (it also includes a short segment further up the hill at the summit):
