Linda and DHB hike to Island Lake in the High Uintahs

Linda and I are staying in Park City, Utah for a week, while I attend a workshop. The workshop sessions are morning and evening, leaving afternoons free. So today Mom and I drove up into the High Uintah mountains (about 40 miles east of Park City), and hiked a very pleasant 10-mile roundtrip trail, which heads west from the road near Trial Lake. We saw a total of seven gorgeous lakes in the process. Here are some photos.

Crystal Lake, near the start of the trail

Long Lake (because it is very long in shape)

Island Lake — arguably the most scenic of the trip

Duck Lake

Pot Lake (why the name?)

Weir Lake

One of many meadows along the trail

One of many unnamed small lakes along the trail
